Salaam on Ella Street 2

In reponse to the riot in July 2024, Ella Street responded by coming together for Salam on Ella Street — a celebration of our city’s diversity and a chance to strengthen the bonds of friendship and solidarity.

Residents were invited to a tea party at Trinity Grove, where there was no shortage of tea, cakes, and good conversation! Joined by our neighbours from Jame Masjid Mosque, the event welcomed over a hundred people who came to show their support, share stories, and stand together in unity.

It was a beautiful reminder that even in challenging times, kindness, connection, and community always shine through.

On Sunday 24th August 2025, Ella Street did it again! The Ella Street community again joined forces with members of the Jame Masjid Mosque and East Yorkshire Community Hub on Pearson Park and celebrated togetherness and kindness, showing love and compassion always wins.
